Tuscaloosa County sheriff’s Deputy Cliff Hembree underwent surgery Monday to repair damage to an eye.
Hembree, who was hit by a car while making a traffic stop on Nov. 29,
is recovering at Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital in Atlanta.
“Cliff came through the surgery very well but still has not regained
his vision. He’s blind right now; all he sees is shadows," Sheriff Ted Sexton
said.
Sexton said that Hembree’s condition is improving. He is able to walk occasionally with a walker and use a wheelchair.
“He is engaging in conversation and is re-learning how to use his arms and legs," Sexton said.
